Google Ads Suspension Statistics 2026: Verified Data From Google's Own Reports

Google ads suspension statistics show how often Google suspends advertiser accounts and which policies it enforces most. This page collects numbers from Google’s own Ads Safety Reports for 2024 and 2025, so you can cite them with confidence. Every figure links to its primary source, and we label anything we calculated ourselves.

Last verified: 15 October 2026. We will update this page when Google publishes its next report.

How Many Google Ads Accounts Get Suspended Each Year?

Google suspended over 39.2 million advertiser accounts in 2024 and over 24.9 million in 2025. That is a fall of about 36% by our calculation. The 2024 report adds that Google suspended the vast majority of those accounts before they ever served an ad.

The 2025 report says Gemini helps Google focus enforcement on bad actors, and that this precision cut incorrect advertiser suspensions by 80%. It does not explain the fall in total suspensions. It also does not say how many accounts appealed or came back, so no one outside Google can state a reinstatement rate.

Which Policies Does Google Enforce the Most?

These are the ten policy areas with the most ads blocked or removed in 2025. The 2024 column shows the figure for the same area where Google lists one.

What Do the Misrepresentation Statistics Show?

Misrepresentation rose from sixth place in 2024 to fourth in 2025. Ads blocked or removed under it grew from 146.9 million to over 421.5 million, about 2.9 times as many by our calculation. These figures count ads, not accounts, so they do not tell you how many accounts Google suspended under this policy.

In 2024, Google also updated its Misrepresentation policy to suspend advertisers that promote public figure impersonation scams. It says it permanently suspended over 700,000 offending advertiser accounts, and reports of that kind of scam ad fell by 90%. To see what the policy covers in plain English, read our guide to misrepresentation policy examples.

What Do the Advertiser Verification Statistics Show?

Google’s 2024 report says advertiser identity verification covers more than 200 countries and territories. It says over 90% of the ads people see on Google come from verified advertisers, on average. The 2025 report calls the program another vital layer of prevention that validates identities, but it gives no new numbers. Our guide to advertiser verification suspensions explains what Google may ask for.

What Do the Scam and Fraud Statistics Show?

Google removed over 602 million ads and suspended over 4 million accounts in 2025 for policies most closely tied to scams. In 2024 the figures were 415 million ads and over 5 million accounts. The 2024 report says Google uses signals such as business impersonation and illegitimate payment details as early warnings. Google also says it has reduced incorrect suspensions, which shows that honest advertisers can be caught.

What Does Google Not Publish?

  • Appeal and reinstatement rates. The reports we read do not include them.
  • Suspension reasons per account. Google reports ads by policy, not accounts by policy.
  • Review times. No report gives a standard timeline.

So treat any “success rate” from an agency as unverified, including ours. We do not publish one, and we do not promise reinstatement, because Google makes the final decision.

What Do These Numbers Mean for Your Business?

  1. Policy checks are routine. Google acts on billions of ads each year, so accurate claims and clear business details matter for every advertiser.
  2. Misrepresentation is growing. Check every claim, price and offer against your landing page, using our landing page checklist.
  3. Verification protects you and Google. Keep your identity documents ready and consistent.
  4. Scam signals can catch honest advertisers. Business impersonation and unusual payment details are early warning signs for Google.
  5. Fix the cause before you appeal. Our guide to why Google Ads accounts get suspended shows common causes. Our free website scanner checks basic trust signals, and our misrepresentation recovery guide shows the next steps.
