Google Ads Misrepresentation Landing Page Checklist

A Google Ads misrepresentation landing page problem starts when your page says something different from your ad, or hides something a visitor needs. Google’s policy covers destinations as well as ads. This checklist shows what to compare, what to show clearly and how to fix each gap before you appeal.

Why Does a Google Ads Misrepresentation Landing Page Problem Happen?

The Misrepresentation policy lists several destination problems. It names inconsistencies between an ad and its landing page, unclear relevance, unavailable offers and dishonest pricing. Each one is a mismatch between what a person expects and what the page shows.

Most mismatches are not deliberate. A price changes, a campaign ends or a template keeps old text. Google may still treat the page as misleading.

How Do You Audit a Landing Page Before You Appeal?

  1. Open the page as a visitor. Use a private window on a phone and a laptop.
  2. Print every ad. Highlight each promise: price, offer, result, name.
  3. Find each promise on the page. If you cannot find it in ten seconds, a reviewer may not either.
  4. Fix the mismatch. Change the page or change the ad, whichever is wrong.
  5. Check linked pages. Review pricing, contact and checkout pages, not only the first page.
  6. Save dated screenshots. They show when you made each fix.

Which Google Ads Misrepresentation Landing Page Mistakes Are Most Common?

  • Old prices. The ad shows a new price and the page shows the old one.
  • Hidden fees. A required fee appears only in the last step.
  • Expired offers. The countdown timer resets on every visit.
  • Vague business details. No address, no company name and no phone number.
  • Copied badges. Trust badges that you cannot back with a document.

Our Google Ads website audit checklist covers more trust checks that apply to any page.

What Should You Check on a Phone?

  • Price and fees. They should show without extra taps.
  • Offer details. A pop-up should not hide them.
  • Contact details. A visitor should find them in one tap.
  • Buttons. Each one should do what its label says.

What If Your Account Is Already Suspended?

Fix the page first. Do not appeal until your destination matches your ads, because a rejected appeal makes the next one harder. Then follow the steps in our misrepresentation appeal guide. You can also read how we work on our misrepresentation suspension recovery page. We do not promise reinstatement, because Google makes the final decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my landing page alone cause a misrepresentation suspension?

It can contribute. Google may review the ad, the website, the account and other sources. A page that contradicts your ad gives Google a reason to flag it.

Do I need to show my full price on the landing page?

Google’s policy asks you to disclose the payment model and the full expected cost clearly. Show the total cost, or explain exactly how it is calculated.

How often should I check my landing pages?

Check them whenever you change an ad, a price or an offer, and review them at least once a month. Old text is a common cause of flags.
